So today has been an interesting day for me in that nothing happened. Sometimes I think my most interesting days aren’t ones that are filled with action packed emergencies, wild rides or dubious amounts of stress. Today was normal, quiet, and peaceful. I got up from a good sleep, snuggled with my cats, talked to my friends, went for a walk, and overall, just soaked in the calm of the day. I feel like sometimes life moves so fast that we forget to take a moment and just breathe. Interesting and exciting days don’t have to be wild. They can be the quiet everyday routine that is what gets you through those chaotic moments. So, for anyone reading this no matter who you are, where you are, or what you’ve done, take a moment to look up at the sky. Look really look at what you’re seeing. Then look at the world that surrounds you and breathe. Observe. Appreciate all the little things you take for granted every day no matter how small. Those little things are a lot more amazing than you think. Then look at yourself, the good, the beautiful, the ugly and the hidden sides and just remember…. You are you. No matter who you are, what your family members and connections are, where you grow up, color, gender, what you have and haven’t done, whatever. The scars that mark us – seen and unseen – are simply the road maps of our lives telling us we have survived. Be proud of the scars, be proud of the pain and anguish, be proud of all of you because you ARE you. No one is perfect and that imperfection those supposed mistakes are what make life interesting and beautiful. Try to accept that what you see is neither good nor bad. It simply is. You are alive, you have survived, and you are here in this little moment. That is good enough. Forget the rest of the world and all the things in it clamoring for your attention. At this moment it is enough, you are enough, and breathe.
