“Being able to create is akin to being able to fly.”

Hi Strangers! I’m Mindi, CEO of Simply Strange Studios and leader of this motley band of cats. So, this is my first blog post and I’ll be honest, I don’t have a clue what to write about. It’s currently almost 1am and I am at work at my other job. I work as a receptionist at a retirement facility. It is the absolute best job ever! They let me work on my duties as Simply Strange Studio’s boss – as long as I finish whatever they need me to do.

And I’ve been pretty antsy today, there is so much to do with the game. Yet, all I want to do is run through the woods and splash in the lake to my heart’s content. I love feeling the sun on my face and the cool kiss of the breeze. Just the thought of it makes me want to wander until I find a nice shady spot in the grass so I can watch the clouds until I fall asleep.

About the past and the future

Funny enough, I actually followed my heart today: I walked a good four miles and enjoyed every minute of it. The short-term goal is to reach 5 miles daily, but eventually I want to get back to the point where I can backpack around the world. See, when I was in the military, I blew out my back and ever since it’s been getting harder for me to walk and get around. Oh well, c’est la vie, but I think that’s the best part of me being an artist. Short of becoming completely paralyzed, I will never have to stop creating unless I want to. That doesn’t mean that my situation is not frustrating…just more bearable than if I didn’t have the passion and interest that I do.

What does “creating” mean to you?

To me being able to create is akin to being able to fly, I can go anywhere, do anything, be anything. I get to live more lives and see more places than one can imagine and I get to share all of my adventures with you guys.

Every creation is an artform.

This is probably why I’m such an avid reader. The more adventures and mischief I can get into the better. Currently , I have been listening to Kristen Painters “Suck It Up, Buttercup: A Paranormal Women’s Fiction Novel (First Fangs Club, Book 2)” and Robin Merrills “Gertrude, Gumshoe Cozy Mystery Box Set: Books 1–6” . Since I can’t sit and read books all day – I’d never finish any projects – I tend to listen to a lot of audible. Lmao I actually go through withdrawal symptoms if I go more than two days without listening or reading a book. I love indulging myself in art. And writing is an artform in itself. Right now, I’m listening to Kristen Painter’s First Fangs Club Book Series. I’ll give you a review once I finished them. But that’s it for today.

I hope you enjoyed reading and will be here next time for our upcoming blog post!
